Comte tastes so good and even the cheaper examples taste ok I think. It’s a great melter and has that mountain milk tatste that goes so well in a ham cheese toastie or with potatoes of part of the mix in a great cheese sauce. This is an inexpensive version but I still enjoyed it and would buy again no problem.

Comte is a delicious cheese and I like the fact that it has not been ruined by wrapping it in plastic but instead it is a waxed paper. Plastic is bad for cheeses as they sweat and go mouldy. Ok a good blue cheese is lovely but not when it isn’t supposed to be blue. I also love the fact this had rind as all good cheeses should have rind in my humble opinion. I love the flavour of Comte and if it wasnt nearly midnight i would be cutting a slice..

A lovely cheese.

A hard cheese with a lovely nutty flavour.

You don’t get that much, but what you do get is a real treat.

Perfect on a water biscuit.
